Job Action Types

Use the Job Editor to create new lob lists ("templates") which you can later assign to different machines. A job list may consist of several different elements the sequence of which you may edit or move at any time. The available elements may vary depending on the selected client type. The following is a list of the most common job elements.

SiteKiosk Command
These commands will be provided by SiteKiosk. You can choose from the following selection:
Name Description
Restart Will exit SiteKiosk and restart the application.
Quit Will exit SiteKiosk without restarting.
Terminate Session Will end the current session on the SiteKiosk machine.
Reset Browser Will reset the SiteKiosk browser.




Change Destination Directory for Synchronization
Use this command to change the destination directory for synchronization (e.g."C:\mysyncfolder"). Please note that the client requires to be restarted to apply the changes after successfully executing the command.




Change Remote Client Configuration
To download and save an existing configuration from one of your machines, use the functions available under Configuration. You will need to have stored at least one remote client configuration (e.g. SiteKiosk or Remote Client) on your local computer to use this function!
Name Description
Source File Click the tab "Browse" to look for a SiteKiosk configuration file stored on a local drive. Click the button "Upload" to upload the file to the SiteRemote server. The status field will indicate that the file has been transmitted to the server successfully.
Please note that you will have to upload the configuration file in order to use this function in a job.




Run Executable
Name Description
Command Line Use this line to enter the command you would normally enter in a shell. Make sure to provide the exact path information!
Invisible Execution When turned on, this flag will execute the program without displaying anything to the user. Please note that the program may not exit correctly if it needs user interaction.
Visible execution with user rights If enabled, this option will execute the program without administrative rights, but in such a way that it is visible to the user.
Evaluate the process's exit code Will check the code the program will transmit on exit. If the field is selected, the code check will be performed by the next fields.
Value Use this field to enter the code value you want the program to transmit on exit if the following fields are to be considered.
completed successfully Select this field if the job was performed successfully by the value above.
Failed Select this field if the job was not properly performed by the value above. The status overview of the job will then indicate this error.




Delay execution of the next step
Use the delay command to pause the excecution of the next step within the same job for a defined period of time.




Execute Script
You can either upload a script from your local PC or use the text field to enter a script directly.
Name Description
File Path Select a script from a local computer or network and copy the file to the server by pressing the "Upload" button.
Encoding ASCII, UTF-8 or UTF-16. Select the type of encoding you prefer for saving your files.
SiteKiosk Object State if the script will use the "SiteKiosk Object Model" (SiteKiosk must be installed on the client).
Text Field Instead of uploading a script, you can enter one here directly.




File Action
Copy Description
Copy Will copy files/directories from a source folder to a destination directory. You can also define if you want to overwrite the existing files stored in the destination folder.
Move Will move files/directories from a source folder to a destination directory. You can also define if you want to overwrite the existing files stored in the destination folder.
Delete Will delete files/directories stored in a particular path.
Create Directory Will create a new directory in a particular path.




Upload File
Name Description
Source File You can browse your computer for a file you want to upload to the server. When the job is executed this file will be downloaded from the machine.
Destination Path The uploaded file is saved on the machine according to this path.




Maintenance Screen
Use the maintenance screen command to activate/deactivate the maintenance screen (requires SiteKiosk Windows 8.92/SiteKiosk Android 2.5 or higher).




Operating System Commands
These commands will be provided by the operating system. Choose from the following selection:
Name Description
Restart Shuts down the operating system before restarting it.
Shutdown Will shutdown the operating system.
Log off User (Windows only) Will log off the current user from Windows.




Create Screenshot
Use this job to transfer a screen view from the target computer. You will then be able to view this screen view in the machine overview.
Depending on the server setting you may be able to select the quality and resolution from a drop-down menu.




Webfile(s) Download
Allows to directly download files from a URL.
