Directory Tree

The directory tree on the left side of the browser window represents SiteRemote's control panel. Please specify if you want to view or edit a single machine or a group of machines.
You can also switch the view from the directory tree to a machine list.




Note:
You can also access these functions by pressing the right button of your mouse. If the buttons' icons are grey, their functions are temporarily unavailable (e.g. functions in connection with creating reports or assigning jobs).


Tool icons in the directory tree
Create Group Click this tab to create a new group (folder/tag). You can easily "drag and drop" machines into this group.
Assign Tags Click this tab to assign machines to one or several tags.
Rename Click the name of a group or single machine to give it a different name.
Delete Use this function to delete selected machines or users after confirmation.
Refresh Press this button to refresh the view of the directory tree.
Folder Permissions This button opens a dialog that can be used to grant folder access to users or user groups. The scope of the access depends on the rights of the specific user or group. The dialog is empty if all users/groups already have access rights based on their existing rights.
Expand/Collapse all These buttons expand or collapse all folders.



Note:
Icons that are slightly greyed out symbolize that the machine has not contacted the server for a few days.
For SiteKiosk Android slightly different icons are used: Android Machine


Icons in the directory tree
Home Home Select this icon to return to the root folder and to display all machines of your team in group view.
Folder / Tag (Virtual Folder) Folder/Tag (Virtual Folder) Indicates a group of machines. Click on this icon to open the group or view the group overview in the right frame.
Use tags (virtual folders) to assign machines to different groups at the same time, e.g. machines at the same location and machines with the same operating system.
A machine group or tag with an assigned event-based job displays a special icon: Folder with event-based job / Tag with event-based job.
Online Machine Machine The machine has a green icon indicating that it is online and has properly responded to SiteRemote server. For more information about the machine, click its icon or select the name using your left mouse button.
Machine in Screensaver Mode Machine A machine with a clock is currently in screensaver mode and is waiting for the next session to begin.
Application not started Machine This machine regularly reports back to the server without running the monitored application and triggered the corresponding alert.

Offline Machine Machine Machines with this icon belong to the group of offline machines, i.e. they have not reported back to the SiteRemote server in quite some time. Click the machine's icon or name to display more information about this machine in the righthand frame.
Machine with Warnings Machine This machine has not properly logged off the SiteRemote server and has "lost the connection." This indicates there might be a problem with the machine and it should be checked.
In case the alert has been deleted on the Dashboard the icon changes to Timeout.
After 24 hours with this status the icon changes to Timeout.
Machine with Warnings Machine This machine is online but an alarm has been triggered. This indicates there might be a problem with the machine and it should be checked.
Machine with Warnings Machine This machine is offline and an alarm has been triggered. This indicates there might be a problem with the machine and it should be checked.
Machine with Warnings Machine This machine is in screensaver mode and an alarm has been triggered. This indicates there might be a problem with the machine and it should be checked.
Monitor off Machine This machine is online and the monitor is off.
Monitor off Machine This machine is online, the monitor is off and the screensaver is active.
Monitor off Machine This machine is online, the monitor is off and the monitored application is not running. An alarm has not yet been triggered.
Maintenance Mode Machine This machine is showing the maintenance mode screen.
Emergency Mode Machine This machine is in emergency mode. SiteKiosk was not able to start properly a few times in a row and dispays an emergency screen.
Machine deleted Machine This machine has been deleted and is in the waste bin.
Waste Waste Bin Move machines and groups to this folder which are no longer needed.
Empty Checkbox Checkbox Checkbox icons will only appear next to folder or machine icons in combination with certain functions. Selection box for an individual machine or group.
The checkbox will show a lock (Locked Checkbox) if the associated folder is locked and cannot be selected. Reset active filters to remove the lock. You can still select machines in the folder. The checkbox shows a blue lock (Locked Checkbox with machines selected) if machines are selected in the folder.
